She Who Holds reflects the quiet strength and unseen weight carried through motherhood. Coil constructed in white clay with sculptural floral elements, the figure bears softened folds, wrinkling, and stretched surfaces that reference the lasting physical marks left upon the body through carrying and nurturing a child. Beyond the body itself, the work speaks to the invisible burden mothers often carry: the emotional strain of caring for a family, balancing professional and social responsibilities, and continuing to hold the needs of others while enduring themselves.
Rather than portraying the body’s changes through motherhood as flaws to overcome, the sculpture honors them as evidence of love, endurance, sacrifice, and care. The body is not diminished by motherhood, but reshaped by it into something deeper, softer, and profoundly powerful.
Delicate fractures throughout the piece are intentionally preserved and adorned with 22k gold, transforming marks once associated with strain into symbols of resilience and beauty.
Part of Eleni’s debut sculptural collection exploring womanhood, motherhood, emotional endurance, and the female form, She Who Holds is a tribute to the women who continue holding others while learning to hold themselves with tenderness, too.
One of a kind.
