Why We Love Local Markets and Art Fairs!

Posted on

Edmonds Art ShowI like to head out and set up shop at different local art markets and fairs, especially during the summer when the sun is shining and everyone is in a happy mood, for a bunch of reasons! One of the main ones is so that I can get out of the house, honestly. Since our studio is in our home, it is so nice to get away from the workspace and see our patrons in person! Making connections with our community face to face is a nice change of pace from the normal internet interactions. It is a nice change of pace for our customers as well because they can see our pieces in person and ask us any questions they might have about them. It really makes a difference to be able to see the product you are thinking about buying in person, right?
These festivals are a great way to network within the artist community too. It is a wonderful place to meet other artists in the area and connect with them. We try to source as much material as we can locally, so these events are a good place to chat with vendors too.
Art fairs are a good place to get a little bit of product testing for us. We can make a “test run” with some new ideas we have and see how the public responds to them in real time. If a product is well received at a market, that is a good way for us to know what people are looking for and to possibly put that item into production on a larger scale.

We just recently set up shop at the Edmonds Arts Fair for our second year and even though the weather did not cooperate, we had a lot of fun and met some wonderful people! Next up we are heading to the Bellevue Arts Museum Arts Fair. The Bellevue Festival has been around for 77 years and we are very excited to be a part of it for our second time!Bellevue Arts Fair
We are also looking forward to setting up at the Anacortes Arts Festival at the Beginning of August for the first time. This will be a great opportunity for us to broaden our reach in our area. Please make sure, if you are at either of these, to stop by and say hi! We are hoping to try out a holiday market this winter as well. It’s always fun to find new ones to set up at and connect with even more of our community. Are there any markets you love that you would like to see us at? We’d love some ideas! Leave them in the comments below!

  • Would like to see you at the Fall event of the Best of the Northwest. Especially your Christmas items and of course many other pieces that would make for Birthday, wedding etc. gifts.
