My Story

I’m Eleni, the founder and artist behind Pottery by Eleni, a small pottery business based out of my garage in Lynnwood, Washington. My journey into pottery is deeply rooted in a love for creativity and artistry, influenced by my background as a costume designer for 14 years in Los Angeles’s film industry. I hold a degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, where I honed my skills in creating seasonal collections and staying on top of trends—concepts that have translated into the way I approach my pottery today.

When the pandemic hit, the film industry shut down, and I found myself with an immobilizing injury. With time on my hands and a need to create, I turned to pottery—something my mother, a ceramics teacher in Seattle, had taught me from a young age. Though I didn't always know pottery was my calling, I knew being an artist was. After creating my first painter’s palette, I realized how special it felt to make functional art for other artists.

Since then, my mission has been to give back to the creative community and provide artists with something beautiful and functional. Even my homeware collection appeals to those with an artistic eye, and I believe we attract customers who appreciate thoughtful, handmade luxury.

What started as a garage-based business on Instagram quickly transformed with the help of my husband, Daniel, who left his job as a production supervisor at SpaceX to help me. His expertise in production turned our artsy garage into an efficient operation, allowing us to grow while still maintaining the personal, hands-on approach that defines Pottery by Eleni. I couldn’t imagine where this business would be without him. Thanks to Daniel handling production and shipping, I get to stay focused on being the creative heart of the shop.

Today, I’m a mother to a beautiful little boy, Damon, and I’m grateful to work from home, doing what I love. Each piece I create is a nod to the inspiring women in my life—family, friends, mentors—who have shaped my journey. Every collection is made with locally sourced ingredients, featuring porcelain, creamy mountain white glaze, and 22k gold details. I continue to explore new collections each season, drawing inspiration from nature, travels, and trends, always seeking to create something special for my customers.

Thanks for being a part of my journey—one handmade piece at a time.

With love and creativity,
