She Who Holds reflects the quiet strength and unseen weight carried through motherhood. It explores both the visible and invisible ways a woman is transformed by caring for another. The softened folds and changing contours of the body speak to the lasting physical marks of pregnancy and birth, while the figure itself honors the emotional labor mothers so often carry: nurturing a family, balancing countless responsibilities, and continuing to hold the needs of others, even as they learn to care for themselves.
Rather than portraying these changes as something to overcome, She Who Holds celebrates them as evidence of love, endurance, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion. The body is not diminished by motherhood. It is reshaped by it into something deeper, softer, and profoundly powerful.
Throughout the sculpture, delicate fractures are intentionally preserved and adorned with 22-karat gold. Rather than concealing these places of vulnerability, the gold draws our attention to them, honoring them as symbols of resilience and reminding us that true beauty is often revealed through the experiences that change us most.
Part of The Strength to Bloom, Eleni's debut sculptural collection exploring womanhood, motherhood, emotional endurance, and the female form, She Who Holds is a tribute to the women who continue holding others while learning to hold themselves with tenderness, too.
One of a kind.
