She Who Welcomes is a celebration of shared womanhood and the quiet strength found in genuine connection. It honors the friendships that carry us through life's most challenging seasons, reminding us that we were never meant to navigate them alone. Though each woman carries her own story, together they become a reflection of resilience, belonging, and the beauty of being truly seen. It is a tribute to the women who make space for one another to heal, grow, and become more fully themselves. One of a kind.

She Who Welcomes is a celebration of shared womanhood and the quiet power of belonging. It reflects the profound relationships women build through mutual understanding, vulnerability, and care, reminding us that some of life's greatest burdens become lighter when they are carried together.

Each figure represents an individual journey, shaped by her own experiences, joys, and hardships. Though every woman stands independently, together they become a reflection of the strength found in community. The work honors the truth that our differences do not divide us. Rather, they deepen the collective story we share and reveal the beauty that emerges when women make space for one another to be fully seen.

Delicate fractures throughout the figures are intentionally preserved and adorned with 22-karat gold, transforming places once associated with hardship into symbols of resilience and grace. Rather than concealing what has been broken, the gold invites us to honor the experiences that have shaped us, reminding us that our deepest strength often grows through vulnerability.

She Who Welcomes is inspired by the meaningful friendships that often arrive later in life. The relationships that ask nothing more than honesty, offer belonging without condition, and quietly remind us that we do not have to become ourselves alone. It is a tribute to the women who welcome one another with compassion, celebrate one another's growth, and create spaces where healing becomes possible.

Part of The Strength to Bloom, Eleni's debut sculptural collection exploring womanhood, motherhood, emotional endurance, and the female experience, She Who Welcomes is a reflection on the extraordinary beauty of women growing stronger, not in isolation, but together.

One of a kind.

How It Was Made

These figures begin as simple, solid forms of clay and are gradually shaped by hand into quiet expressions of the human experience. Every contour, gesture, and feature is carefully refined, allowing emotion to emerge through subtle details rather than dramatic movement. It is an intimate process that reminds me how even the gentlest touch has the power to transform.

After each figure is sculpted, every surface is slowly refined, smoothing away the marks of making while preserving the life within the form. An oversized flower is then added, creating a gentle contrast between the delicacy of the bloom and the quiet strength of the figure. Together, they speak to the ways beauty and resilience often grow side by side.

I intentionally adorn places once perceived as flaws, or those that have carried pain, with 22-karat gold. In doing so, I shift the focus from what was broken to what was transformed. The gold adds value where the world often sees weakness, honoring these places as the source of resilience, beauty, and becoming.

About Eleni

I spent fourteen years as a costume designer in Hollywood before building a quieter life as a ceramicist in the Pacific Northwest.
